The all-important first line:
I was leaning against the bar in a hotel on 57th Street waiting for Nigel to finish his Christmas shopping, when a woman got up from a table and came over.
Review so far: Cover is smooth, has that "new book" scent which is understandable since my library acquired it five days ago and I must be the first patron to check it out. First line is kind of meh. I randomly opened the book to chapter 20, and discovered a much more intriguing first line -- "By midnight I was ready to take up smoking, and the waiter and I were on a first-name basis." Appears to be written in first person POV.

Fun line on back cover: Next Up for Auction: Murder
The all-important first line:
He was gorgeous and he was naked but, unfortunately, he was dead.
Review so far: Cover is matte, kind of a "sticky" feeling which is mildly annoying, has less of a "new book" scent but this copy is almost four months older than the book above. First line is awesome. I randomly opened the book to chapter 10, and found this first line -- "Holding her breath, Wren reached into the secret compartment and was mildly disappointed when her hand only encountered a stack of brittle paper." Appears to be written in third person POV.
