A is for US left Afghanistan

This year's theme for my A-to-Z Blogging Challenge is Significant Events from 2021 and the first 3 months of 2022.

The teaser photo I posted in the theme reveal is of a Ukranian Olympian, so your answer could have been Olympics or Ukraine or something similar.

Last year the photo I posted in my theme reveal was a teaser for my A post.  This year I wasn't as smart!  So there was no teaser for today's post.  At the end of today's post, however, is a teaser for tomorrow's B post.  Enjoy!

The USA withdrew all troops from Afghanistan on August 30, 2021.

And here's an amazing photo I found!  On August 30, 2021, a Chinook helicopter was loaded inside a Globemaster cargo plane to fly home from Kabul airport

It kinda looks like it's giving birth.

  3. The Afghanistan departure certainly was a fiasco. But in my opinion we shouldn't have been there in the first place.
