F is for Facebook rebrands itself as Meta

This year's theme for my A-to-Z Blogging Challenge is Significant Events from 2021 and the first 3 months of 2022.

At the end of today's post is a teaser for tomorrow's G post.  Enjoy!

Facebook rebrands itself as Meta on October 28, 2021.

On February 4, 2004, a Harvard sophomore named Mark Zuckerberg launched The Facebook to connect Harvard students with one another. In 24 hours, over a thousand people had registered. Today, Facebook has over 2 billion monthly active users.

In 2012, Zuckerberg bought Instagram.

In 2014, Zuckerberg bought WhatsApp.

On October 28, 2021, Zuckerberg officially became the CEO and chairman of Meta, the new parent company for Facebook and the other businesses. Zuckerberg sees the future of the internet as the metaverse.

  1. Write more about metaverse. A to Z challenge makes you write. Write and interact with a big blogger community.

  2. The funny thing about your G post preview is that the same thing is repeating itself in Chesapeake Bay right now.

    1. I think they're both owned [or operated] by Evergreen, which starts with that.
