M is for Angela Merkel

This year's theme for my A-to-Z Blogging Challenge is Significant Events from 2021 and the first 3 months of 2022.

At the end of today's post is a teaser for tomorrow's N post.  Enjoy!

On December 8, 2021, Angela Merkel stepped down as German chancellor, after serving for 16 years.

Angela Merkel became the first female Chancellor of Germany in 2005 and held that position for 16 years.  She was raised in East Germany before the wall fell, and has a PhD in Physical Chemistry.

  1. She was a smart lady, that's for sure. Not convinced there's a direct line between 'brilliant' and 'good leader' though!

    1. Intelligence often translates into good leadership altho not always.

  2. I am not sure how brilliant she is, many things she did didn't settle well with me. She was the right person, at the right time, to hold her country together and advance its place on the world stage.

Tomorrow, again not sure where the N falls, I know this is the monument, the first and most important, for something that has long needed to be a National Holiday.
