National Days/Weeks #5

Last week's photos:
Feb 22 - National Margarita Day
Feb 26 - National Tell a Fairy Tale Day

Each week on Monday I'll post two photos which represent a "national day" or "national week" for the coming week [through the following Sunday].  Your job is to figure out which national day or week is depicted in each photo.

Here are the photos for this week.  What national day or week does each represent?  Even if you aren't 100% sure, make your best guess!  Come back next week to see if you're right.

  1. The second one is Dr Seuss' birthday which I think is some sort of Reading Day in the US?

The other one must be a Pancake Day (or week)?

  2. 1) I still like the International House of Pancakes, even though they foisted National Pancake Day on us as an ad campaign.

    2) Oh, the places you'll go, on Dr. Seuss Day.

    1. It was a very successful ad campaign because IHOP is still giving away a free stack of pancakes on March 1. But the IHOP closest to our house recently closed so the chain is definitely hurting.

  3. Pancakes and the grumpy fish who says that's a plate of junk food. ;)

Hope you're having a great weekend! My latest blog post has my theme for the April #AtoZChallenge (I'm writing speculative fiction and looking for prompts).
There's a Christine Herbert signed-book giveaway from Feb 23 that's about to end over at Operation Awesome.

    1. That fish does tend to be grumpy, doesn't it? And great theme for the Challenge!
