K is for Kobe Bryant

This year for the A-to-Z Challenge, I'll be looking at major events that happened in 2020 [the year we would all like to forget, so let's look at it first, before flushing it down the toilet].

Welcome to K!  We're looking at – KOBE BRYANT.

We lost several well-known people in 2020, some because of coronavirus and some for other reasons.  Kobe Bryant died at age 41 on January 26, 2020, along with his 13yo daughter and 7 other people, in a helicopter crash.

Known as the Black Mamba, he played for the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team for his entire 20 year career and was one of the best players in the game.  He left behind his wife Vanessa and three daughters.

Here's a teaser for tomorrow, letter L:

  1. Oh yes, Kobe Bryant was a great loss. We had a lot of famous people, singers, actors, who died in 2020...

  2. Feels so long ago, being pre-pandemic, but only in 2020! Such a shame.

  3. Another I heard of but didn't mean a lot in Australia (I hadn't heard of him until his death). But I'm still finding this interesting... funny how so many events of last year have been washed away because covid overrode everything.

    1. This is true. So many events have been almost forgotten because of the pandemic dominating everyone's thoughts.

  4. I wasn't real keen on him when he started. He was way too young to be put in such a position, but he grew up pretty well and turned into a pretty decent person.

I think he realized some of the shortcomings he had early, his philanthropy seemed to be pointed toward helping others develop socially.

    1. Based on what I've read, yes he did turn into a decent person. Sad.

  5. When we lose people in tragedies like the helicopter crash, it is always so hard to process. Weekends In Maine
