This year for the A-to-Z Challenge, I'll be looking at major events that happened in 2020 [the year we would all like to forget, so let's look at it first, before flushing it down the toilet].
Welcome to V! We're looking at – Vaccination.
Near the end of 2020, several vaccines were in trials. As of now, there are three different COVID-19 vaccines available in the US for people age 16+. We're definitely looking forward to a time when all these restrictions can go away and places are open again!
Have you been vaccinated?
Here's a teaser for tomorrow, letter W:
I stand firmly and proudly on the vaccinated side of the fence. It seems amazing to me how the tech came together to create this better way of making a vaccine (mRNA).
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why the vaccine lines are getting so little use now. I understand the old anti-vax people, their bitch wasn't with vaccines, but with Thimerosal, the ethyl mercury preservative once used.
I know COVID is a political beast, but you should be getting vaccinated for your mothers, fathers, children, and friends, if not just for yourself. I know you can't underestimate human stupidity, but this is ridiculous.
Standing firmly and proudly is a good thing!
DeleteYay you have yours, Dena, and that you finally found a line to stand in, Craig. Sadly, I am unvaccinated - not because I don't want to be but because I am not qualified to be able to have it yet. My "phase" for the vax is still to come up. In Oz we have AstraZeneca (for 50+ years old) and Pfizer (frontline workers and under 50s). There is another one the government is hoping to approve in the second half of this year (novavax or something like that).
ReplyDeleteHere in US, everyone age 16+ is now eligible. How long until you'll be at the top of the list?
DeleteNot for a number of months yet :(
DeleteOh, our California wildfires.
ReplyDeleteYep, those nasty wildfires.
