Z is for Zoom

This year for the A-to-Z Challenge, I'll be looking at major events that happened in 2020 [the year we would all like to forget, so let's look at it first, before flushing it down the toilet].

Welcome to Z!  We're looking at – Zoom.

We already discussed remote learning/meeting under letter R.  Let's end our look back on 2020 with some of the mishaps!

Lawyer cat
The moral of this story is be sure you know how to use your technology!

Traffic trial while in surgery
I've been a temporary judge presiding over traffic trials.  This commissioner was 100% correct in rescheduling the hearing for another day.  OMG!

Here's a compilation of epic Zoom mishaps from a lawyer perspective.

Thanks for looking at 2020 with me.  Come back on Monday for A-to-Z Reflections!

  1. The "uncommon use" of Zoom is sometimes very funny. Congratulations on completing the challenge once again!

    1. Sometimes funny, sometimes horrifying. I wonder if that surgery patient has any idea of what happened?

    1. It was fun, but now I'm glad I can forget [as much as possible] about 2020.

  3. Zoom wasn't the first love/hate relationship in my life, but last year it became almost all consuming.

    1. Appearing in court while sitting at my desk was definitely interesting this year. I sure don't miss the commute tho.

    1. Like anything, Zoom [and other platforms] has its positives and its negatives. Great for saving time tho. Bad if you have technology glitches!

  5. I have never zoomed (but I do skype). Some of the zoom fails have been pretty funny though (the cat lawyer was definitely funny). Yay on making it through to Z :)

    1. I really feel for that cat lawyer. Good thing the judge wasn't an old stick-in-the-mud. I know certain judges who would have given that attorney an earful.

  6. Personally, I was grateful that folks started using Zoom as a way to continue having meetings because then they often needed a transcriptionist to type it up. Thats' where I came in and having the zoom video was helpful for me to identify the speakers. Great A to Z this year, Dena!
